2018 Pink Tie Guy – Tim DuVall
Tim DuVall, a native Hoosier, is a partner at Indianapolis-based CPA firm, Katz, Sapper and Miller. Tim lives with his second wife, Mary, and children, Kyle, Tiffany, and Cara. Their busy household also includes Harper, a precocious mini goldendoodle.
Why be a Pink Tie Guy?
Tim understands first-hand the devastating impact that a breast cancer diagnosis has on everyone in a family. Tim’s first wife, Angelia (pronounced Angela), was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer before the age of 40. Although she fought hard to beat this disease, she passed away just before her 42nd birthday. She left behind not only her husband of 21 years, but also a son, Kyle, who was a junior in high school, and a daughter, Cara, who was just finishing sixth grade. Angelia was a loving wife and an amazing mother who always put her family and friends first.
Tim is now remarried, and everyone in his blended family is dedicated to honoring Angelia’s memory through active involvement in the fight against breast cancer. Not only does Tim serve on the board for Susan G. Komen Central Indiana, but the entire DuVall family has taken part in the Race for the Cure and the Pink Tie Ball. They also give their time and resources to other organizations that fight this terrible disease and help those affected.
With the support of his family, Tim wants to bring a male voice to the urgency for research around causes, treatments, and ultimately cures for the various types of breast cancer that affect the lives of too many women and families across Central Indiana. Hopefully, there will soon be a day when no family has to go through what they have experienced.
