Staff Spotlight: Carla Borden, Executive Director
Carla Borden joined Komen Central Indiana as the executive director in November of 2018. Prior to Komen, Carla served as the manager of grants and compliance with Community Health Network Foundation. Prior to Community, she worked in philanthropy and research grant writing for over 10 years. While living in Arkansas, Carla led the Literacy League of Craighead County and served as executive director of CASA of the 2nd Judicial District.
She began a career in healthcare 25 years ago as a radiation therapist and during that time invented three medical devices used for oncology patients. Additionally, she taught radiation therapy at the university level. In February 2018, she published her first book for people who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
Carla and her husband Joe have two married daughters and four grandchildren. She is excited to bring her experience and innovation to Komen Central Indiana to help reach the Bold Goal by 2026.
